Simbahöllin Coffeehouse Cookbook

Back in 2017 we published a Simbahöllin cookbook, full of our favourite recipes from the coffeehouse and everyday life, as well as stories and photos from life in Þingeyri. As our first edition sold out, we have now re-printed it. The book is available for sale in the coffeehouse, or you can order one online below.

In 2019 our cookbook was awarded third prize in the Gourmand International World Cookbook Awards, pastry category. So exciting to see our own self-published book up there with so many other great publications!

We are now also selling a beautiful book we took part in creating of work by and about the artist Guðbjörg Lind Jónsdóttir. Guðbjörg is a good friend of the coffeehouse and frequently shows her work here as well as in galleries around Reyjavík and internationally. She is originally from Ísafjörður and often works locally in Þingeyri, and the influence of the Westfjords landscape runs through much of her work. This book contains beautiful color print examples of art works spanning her career, and includes essays and reflections on the works by a range of art historians, writers, friends of the artist, and Guðbjörg herself.
